Is worth the small investment . I covers a lot of the required basics

The above is a bit outdates but with respect to logics this still works fine .

What small project can I work on ?

Try some open API / or Twitter. Get this API results into Kafka and then dump them to S3 .
The above is a level 1 project. Once you have achieved it you will find the way to improve the project and make it better
