He starts with the basics and works his way to the more advanced stuff. You should be able to follow along, easily.

None of the two course on Udemy (Bombal and Anderson) follows the OCG. I checked Chris Bryant's CCNA course and that looks as it follows the OCG, I think. Link: https://www.udemy.com/course/ccna-200-301-video-boot-camp-with-chris-bryant/

Hello; So i've asked around a bit and these are all the resources I plan on going through:

  1. CCNA - This acts as the foundation; I'm actually going to skip doing the cert.
  2. Computer Networking: A Top-down Approach; Highly recommended by a both Excellentway in this thread + Cloud engineers in a discord group i'm part of.
  3. TCP/IP Illustrated By Stevens

That's all the resources I plan to leverage to really solidify my understanding in networking.

It was kind of wild getting my CCNA. It opened a lot of doors for me and got me interviews that I couldn’t get before I had it. My advice is to not get discouraged and to realize that since there is a daunting amount of information, you need to consistently study every day over a long period of time. Since I was working a full time job, it took me 2 years to get my CCENT. Then they changed the certification tracts. And when I got let go from my job I could study full time for the new CCNA. It took me 9 months to study for my CCNA and I had to take the test twice because I didn’t pass the first time. Ultimately, just don’t get discouraged, it is worth it to get your CCNA. It is still a very relevant certification that employers want you to have.

• Before you do anything, go to this weblink and print out the Official CCNA exam topics. The test questions follow these topics very closely. Cross these topics off as you learn them well: https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/s/ccna-exam-topics • You will need the Boson Netsim CCNA 200-301 labs. You will need to do all these labs throughout your study to practice the commands. There is no better way to get hands on experience and help you understand the concepts. - $179 (sometime they have sales) https://www.boson.com/network-simulator/ccna-200-301-cisco-network-simulator • I read the CCNA 200-301 Official Certification Guides by Wendell Odom premium ebooks cover to cover. - $68.99 https://www.ciscopress.com/store/ccna-200-301-official-cert-guide-library-9781587147142 Some chapters I read Multiple Times. I read one chapter a day, each chapter is about 20 to 30 pages long. It took me two hours to read one chapter. There are 48 chapters. Those were by FAR the most helpful to pass the test. Make sure you know the “Key Topics” in each chapter really well. the test makers worked closely with Wendell Odom to come up with the exam questions. Wendell Odom is also incredible at explaining the topics and helping you understand them. • At the end of each ebook there are appendixes that give you the CCNA Exam topics, and then tell you the chapters of the books where that exam topic is answered. This is INVALUABLE when you are 30 days out from taking the exam. These appendices are only included in the ebook version, not the physical books. Volume 1, Appendix R, Exam Topics Cross-Reference. Volume 2, Appendix G, Exam Topics Cross-Reference. • Volume 2, Chapter 20, Final Review, Exam Review – has a lot of really good advice for preparing for the exam and taking the exam on exam day. Wendell Odom really helped me out with this chapter. • The exam is heavy on questions about Network Automation (last 5 chapters of Volume 2), Wireless, and Wireless LAN Controllers (Last 4 Chapters of Volume 1), OSPF, and how routers make decisions on what routes to put in the routing table. Know those sections and chapters like the back of your hand and do the Boson Netsim Labs for them multiple times. • One big section on the test is Routing Table Logic. Volume 1 Chapter 16, “Multiple routes, using different routing protocols (OSPF, RIP, EIGRP, Static Route, etc..), that all have the same remote destination but all have different prefix lengths – the route with the longest prefix length wins and gets put in the routing table. Then it goes by Administrative Distance, Then Metric. Know how to subnet really well and use Wendell Odom’s advice about the “Magic Number” to solve these questions quickly on the test. • I had 103 questions and believe the test was 120 minutes. That means you have 1 minute and 35 seconds per question. The questions that you don’t answer are counted wrong and you are not able to jump around. Once you click “next” you can’t go back. The test costs $300.00 • One of the best ways to stay motivated to study for the exam and go ahead and schedule the exam 6 months out. It will motivate you to study and not waste your money. • It is hard to find Wireless LAN Controller labs, so you will need to actually use Packet Tracer to lab up a Wireless LAN Controller environment to help you understand it. Keith Barker walks you through how to do this in packet tracer in this youtube video. Fast forward to the 12:24 minute mark, that is where he actually starts showing how to do it. • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lziH6S17qXs • CBT Nuggets was good general knowledge and helped me understand some concepts but it didn’t really help me with specific exam questions. There are about 420 videos and they cost $600 for a year. It is questionable how much they helped me, but I know a lot of people really like CBT Nuggets. They are fairly entertaining to listen to. • I like Chris Bryant’s course on Udemy. It is more dry that CBT nuggets, but it was really helpful in helping me understand some of the concepts. It was only $20: • https://www.udemy.com/course/ccna-200-301-video-boot-camp-with-chris-bryant/?src=sac&kw=chris+bryant+ccna • I am a Christian and believe that God helped me understand the material, helped me pass my test, and gave me my new job. If you know Jesus personally, Ask Him to help you and He will. • You will also need to buy a practice test. This is extremely helpful in getting you prepared for the kinds of questions they ask you on the test: • https://govstore.pearsonvue.com/product-p/mu-200-301.htm
