Since you already know a little JavaScript, it's safe to assume you also know other web primitives like HTML and CSS?

I'd say it's best to start with what you know, and as such I'd recommend this free video course from Chris De Leon. It's based entirely on JavaScript and the web Canvas API.

As a frontend-oriented web developer, I started with that and then later graduated to the JavaScript-based Phaser engine for a few small projects.

Its because people that are good at what they do aren't necessarily good at being educators.

Run into this a lot with math teachers in college.

If you want a really good course from a guy that knows how to teach, check this out.

Its free and while it doesn't touch of OOP. It is pretty fun.
