DBT can help... It was developed for BPD but it's now used to help many different types of people... There are many free resources online

Here's one https://www.udemy.com/course/free-dbt-diarycard/

A second one https://positivepsychology.com/emotion-regulation-worksheets-strategies-dbt-skills/

DBT is something that has actually helped me personally tremendously... Our parents lack all of the DBT skills or if if they don't, they still neglected to teach them, so brushing up on them is like actually being parented, you learn how to calm yourself down, give yourself a break, about basic do's and don't in relationships, etc. They're really simple to understand and implement but are really, really effective...

Learning about relationship skills and red flags for unhealthy patterns is also something you can benefit from:

You might also benefit from talking to a real therapist, if you have access to one...

Please note that taking one of these courses will not automatically solve everything! Recovery is a journey that takes time and practice (all the more reason to start now, trust me you don't want to be still dealing with this when you're 40), and DBT skills take a lot of practice! If you want to find a recovery community to belong to, consider SMART Recovery. It's secular (i.e. not religious), and not substance-specific, so anyone with an addiction or behaviour that is not working for them (eg an eating disorder, or shopping addiction, anything really and all kinds and ages of people attend), and it's free. They have a complete program for learning how to cope with the urge to do something we know is not good for us, and how to build a life where we don't have those urges as much. The self-management skills that they teach in SMART tie in very closely with what someone would learn if they were in an eating disorder treatment program.
