Decent course for beginners. One time payment. Now the price is around 12$, don’t think there’s any better than that. I sure recommend :)

Maybe try 'Hebrew for beginners' on Udemy. You can buy it for around $16. it's not free but:

  • The instructors are native Hebrew speakers, which is better than the robotic voice on Duolingo
  • The instructors have experience with teachning kids, so they really explain every aspect
  • They give great advice on the Q&A forum
  • You get tons of material to save or print offline and a few extra's
  • They have follow-up courses like 'conversational Hebrew' which figures movies on different Israeli historical sites, so you mlearn the history and culture as well
  • You get a certificate of completion if you pass all the tests (and can post it on LinkedIn if you want)
  • The course gets updates and upgrades
  • Only con: the occasional mistakes in English, but I'm not a native English speaker either, so it didn't bother me much.

Ok, it might not be free, but for the cost of a takeaway pizza you can entertain yourself for weeks or even months.

Would you like some advice on making dirt cheap pizza yourself at home in order to be able to afford it? I have some good recipes.

My learning of Hebrew has been a mix of resources.

1st, I have a really good friend in college who is a native Israeli. He would chat back and forth with me, romanizing the text in our texts (instead of using the Hebrew letters, we would text "shalom! Ma shalom'ha?", "ani tov", etc). He is always...and still...correcting my grammar and spelling. Lol.

I did some learning off hebrewpod101. If you have never joined their site, take advantage of their $1 for however long, free trial. I ended up not using them any more because of their prices. I am back to a place where I could use them again...but I prefer not to.

I currently have two courses on Udemy that have been helpful. I got them while they were offering a sale on courses. The courses are... (https://www.udemy.com/course/hebrew-for-beginners/) and (https://www.udemy.com/course/learn-hebrew-across-israel-home/).

I found this site I love to refer to. (https://learnhebreweasily.blogspot.com/) It has a "lesson plan" set up, and does verb conjugation like I am used to seeing in class when I took French or Spanish. It has been very helpful.

Also, I bought myself a Hebrew dictionary, and the book "501 Hebrew Verbs".

I hope this help. :)
