It's hard man, trust me I know, I am also just starting out but if I am going to recommend you anything then I would recommend buying a course for it. I have a great beginners course on udemy.com for you if you want, I also think you should learn mantra before redshift just so you get used to houdini. Houdini is hard as hell in the start and for a lot of people it takes a year or so before they get remotely good at it.

Just keep fighting. I love to learn and it's probably why I have come so far in houdini. Also forget the workflow of blender when working in houdini, learn houdini from houdini, don't learn houdini by thinking like other software packages. It's totally different, the workflow and everything. And I hope this helped.

There are lots of courses for not a lot of money out there, I think you should look into it. Thevfxschool.com also has some great ones like the Renascence but for that you need some basics like you learn in the udemy one under here

I started with this course https://www.udemy.com/course/houdini-create-full-cg-chocolate-commercial-in-houdini/ and it helped me a whole lot, so if you want to work with houdini start at absolute basics.

Hope this helps you a little
