Here's a FREE course. I haven't seen a ton of success using anything from CompTIAs site. Here is ANOTHER ONE that has good reviews for $12.99 - 2 day sale. Good luck with the exam!

I just passed the ITF+. I started watching the TechGee YouTube videos but I didn’t really like them and only watched like 15 minutes. Here’s what I used:

Study Guide from Quentin Docter

• Udemy courses from Don Pezet and Ronnie Wong and Scott Jernigan

The Don Pezet course is better and it’s free. I did learn a few things from both courses though. Also the book comes with flash cards and practice tests. Keep taking the tests until you are in the 90s. After that you should be ready for the exam. It takes some time to retain the information. I would look at the summaries at the end and f the chapter and if I didn’t remember something I reread those sections. Do the same with questions you get wrong on the practice tests, reread those sections.

Above all don’t give up! Nothing easy is ever worth it. You gotta work at it. You’ll get it.

The computer industry has certifications. They're not that useful for software development but they're quite useful for the IT side of things. There are certifications for computer repair, security, networking, systems administration, cloud, DevOps, etc. There are even certifications for software like Microsoft Office but I don't know if those certs are relevant still.

To get certified you take tests. Those tests can be taken at an exam place but some you can take from your house with a webcam pointing at you to make sure that you're not cheating.

Even if you're not interested in getting certified you can use the study materials of those certifications as a curriculum. I, for example, was weak in computer networking so I started studying for the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) even though I'm not interested in taking the test in the immediate future. I've learned a lot.

The most basic IT certification that covers a little bit of everything is the IT Fundamentals (ITF+) certification from CompTIA. It's very basic so it's not super useful on a resume but the study materials should help you figure out where you stand. Here's a description:

>CompTIA ITF+ helps professionals to decide if a career in IT is right for them or to develop a broader understanding of IT.

>ITF+ is the only pre-career certification that helps students or career changers determine if they have a competency for information technology and if it is the right career path for them.

You can register in that page to get free exams questions and outlines of the course without having to register for a class or take a test.

Here's a 16 page PDF with objectives.

You should find a ton of free (and cheap) training material for that test if you search for it, including prep tests and videos on YouTube. If you do decide to get some paid resources think $20 and not $200 and god forbid $2000. Seriously, don't pay too much for anything at that level.

Udemy has a free ITF+ course. I don't know how good it is but it's allegedly 18 hours of free content.

If the ITF+ curriculum is not exactly what you're looking for let me know and I'll try to find you something a bit more relevant to your needs.
