If you give someone a coupon to your course (like this one for my practical mental math course) then you keep 97%
If someone finds your course while browsing Udemy, you get 50%.
If someone buys your course from an advert then you get only 25%.
Sometimes you also lose a few % for e.g. iOS fees, depending where the student buys your course.
So in practice I'm getting an average of about $5 for sales of my course. The price is officially $44.99 but no-one pays that. Some instructors list their course for a crazy price like $179.99 but trust me, everyone is buying it at discount prices around $15.
