2-3 months is an adequate amount of time to get certified. Your mileage will vary on landing your first Salesforce job.

Some become accidental admins, while others struggle to land their first Salesforce job.

I'd recommend you work through my updated Admin course.

Here's my free 9 weeks to Salesforce Certified Challenge, as well. You will find a study guide and self-assessment checklist (use this early on, rather than practice tests to measure your readiness - save practice tests until towards the end of your journey, so you learn the concepts).

Hope this helps and good luck.

I appreciate that! I actually started this one https://www.udemy.com/course/salesforce-administrator/ - but it seems to be exclusively classic - so I probably need to find a lightning-based one too.

If you're going down the dev route, still get the admin cert (there are so many devs out there that are writing code for things that are enabled by a checkbox. Don't reinvent the wheel), and get platform dev 1. I got my dev cert before I got my admin cert, so the order you get them in doesn't matter as long as you get both.

I used these two classes to help me study. Dev1: https://www.udemy.com/course/complete-salesforce-certified-platform-developer-i-course/

Admin: https://www.udemy.com/course/salesforce-administrator/

Once you have those, get comfortable with Javascript. You'll be writing a lot of it with lightning web components.

Is this the course you mentioned? Its $125 right now but I'll wait for it to be $20 since they always do this. Thanks

30? Absolutely not. Put you're head down and finish this Udemy training.

Admin training https://www.udemy.com/course/salesforce-administrator/

Developer training https://www.udemy.com/course/learn-salesforce-apex-basic-to-advance/

Its 25 hours of content. Understand those concepts and you'll be ready for an entry level position. Entry level to senior in tech can take as little as 2-3 years if you work hard.

Here is what I would recommend:

  • Create an account on Trailhead
  • Work through the Trailhead modules with a goal to level up to Ranger status.
  • Create a plan with a goal of completing X modules per day, with each level completed by X date and Ranger level completed by X date. Set a goal for when you are going to take your Admin certification exam.
  • Don't go through the modules as fast as possible. Take your time, make sure your goal is understanding the material and learning how the relevant area works before moving on.
  • After achieving Ranger level, start doing superbadges. Start with the Admin super set. Complete all 3 superbadges to complete the set.
  • Review the Salesforce Admin exam guide here to understand what will be on the exam.
  • Study for your Admin exam. Be diligent about studying. Do it every day for a set minimum amount of time.
  • Make use of the Study for the Administrator Certification Exam trail on Trailhead here.
  • Consider paying for Focus on Force study guide and practice exams here to enhance your understanding of how Salesforce works and prepare for the exam
  • Consider paying for Mike Wheeler's Salesforce admin exam prep course on Udemy here (Wait for Udemy discounts if you can, sometimes you can get it as cheap as $11)
  • Make sure you understand all the key concepts and areas of Salesforce that will be on the exam. Review until you're ready.
  • Take your exam and pass it. Profit.
