It has 6 parts so make sure that you complete all 6 of them. It will greatly help you understand spoken Swedish. Duolingo is not much help to learn a new language to talk to people

Totally free and for absolute beginners First part: https://www.udemy.com/course/swedish-made-easy/ Instructor is really fun. It's more about getting you to speak as soon as possible rather than going over grammar and such. You can either pick grammar intuitively or read some book later. Still a good option, in my opinion.

I am also a total beginner in swedish. I recomend you the Swedish Made Easy, by Felix Lättman. Is a free swedish course divided in six days. I am in the day three, and man, it helped me a lot. The way Felix teach is incredible, give it a try.
