Look, you're not stupid! There is a difference between stupidity and ignorance! Besides, how did you save that much at your age??

That being said, it's not easy to find investments which are conventional but not an incredibly crap deal, and by that I mean, very low return on investment, overvalued in price, fees on top of that, in which you also have to take all the risk and they don't assume responsibility for losing your investment (think mutual funds).

I myself would look at learning value investing, because I think that would suit your penny-pinching mentality, because you make the effort to look out for value.

You gotta start with education before you invest a penny.

There is a course on this I can hugely recommend, having gone through it myself. The creator of the course himself then introduces you after the course to software of his that helps you filter stocks that meet value investing criteria in minutes, rather than hours, which I found super-helpful.
